On Friday the 13th of March, Karakusevic Carson Architects held a workshop with organisations at the Selby Centre to gain their thoughts and insight into the current facility. Working with an existing model of the building, attendees recorded what they liked and disliked helping the design team understand how the centre works from the people who know it best.
We then did a visioning exercise with licensees to explore future aspirations for the new centre. Through mood boards and collaging, teams used images and drawings to express their vision for the Selby. It was a fantastic day and the design team were able to learn a lot from the attendees.
Pictured are some of the mood boards produced, a communal green space at the heart of the new Selby was one of the key aspirations for the new building that all organisations loved the idea of.
